THE DESIRE FOR A BETTER LIFE

We are never satisfied with what we have. There is always a desire to want more of the better things in life. Be it money, house, children, job and for some even spouse. Not for all though, for some they are contented with what they have and are happy about it. Is it wrong? No, for to each his own. We are made equal in the eyes of God but be we not equal in our thinking and psychological makeup.

For those who always want something better (in a good way) they go about it in a wrong way. Firstly you need to be thankful for what you already have. This is the start. If you are not thankful for what you have, nothing more can be added on to it. So to start with be ever thankful from the bottom of your heart for what you have now.

A thankful heart is always close to God. Then you can wish for better things in life. However for the good things to come your way two other conditions must be met with.

Secondly you need to make sure that the condition must be right for what you have asked for before you can receive it. Let me explain. For example you need a better job, to begin with you must be thankful for the existing job you have. Then for the job which you seek and think it is better than your present one you need to make sure your skill sets are compatible with the job you apply and be realistic about it. If you do not have the skill sets then go and get it, by taking up a course or do something to improve yourself.

Thirdly you need to make sure that when you receive the job, you can add value to it and expand on it. Nature thrives on progress and on continual renewal of itself. Like that the third condition you need is ask yourself what can I contribute to the new job I have been given and how can I make it grow. To take a job just for the monetary benefit will not sustain your interest for long. Your attitude to begin with is already wrong. There can never be growth and progress in anything you do.

So remember the three rules should you wish for something better in a good way. Firstly be thankful for what you already have, secondly the condition must be right for you to receive it, if not you need to do something to prepare the condition. Thirdly you need to not only sustain but make it grow i.e. you need to add value to it and expand on what you have received.

This applies to all things in life and should you take time to reflect on the rules and then apply to your life’s journey you can be assured that life will change for the better for you.

May you be Blessed and guided to all things good in life.
