FROM 4G TO 1G

In this fast paced Internet Age of mobile phones where you can get connected to anyone with just one click has made us slaves to our mobile devices. With this connectivity constantly on the move with us we are so connected to our 4G devices that we become disconnect from the 1G – GOD!

Ask anyone who is living this fast paced life and they will tell you that they have become totally disconnected with themselves. They feel empty and yet do not know why they feel this way. Think about it, the mobile devices you have is connected to the 4G which is outside you but the 1G which is also with you is connected within you. While the 4G can be switched off, the 1G in you cannot be switched off until you draw your last breath.

Life suddenly revolves around work, WhatsApp, SMS, emails, Face Time and whatever social media there is today which allows you to either stay connected to your social contacts and also to vent your anger at anyone or anything with one click of a button. Is this what the future holds for the next generation, where the self is lost in the www (world wide web) and one becomes more and more disconnected to one’s own reality, your true self, your divine self? I certainly hope not, for should society morph to that state of mindless chatting and texting the disconnected self will move even further from the true self resulting the a void that is more difficult to fill up and that void in an empty shell of self without feeling of compassion and love for others.

We need to live a balanced life of work and spirituality between the 4G and the 1G.
You may ask how? I have so much work and pressure put on me that I do not have time for myself let alone visit places of worship to recharge. The key word here is myself, the self within you needs to take spiritual breaks, the self within you needs to be recharged before it gets totally disconnected from your divine “Self”.

You are the temple in which God dwells. We tend to forget this basic truth. We think that to find God and get energized we need to go out to find him. If we work on the temple within us where God dwells we will not feel this emptiness that we feel in this fast paced life.

Firstly we need to stay connected. How do you do this? First thing when you wake up connect yourself by a simple prayer. If you need a special prayer under “Prayers” you will find the “Morning Prayer”. If you can commit it to memory it is good but if you cannot then a simple prayer like “Thank you God for what I am about to receive.” Say this with all your heart and not your mind and believe it. Do this even before you check your mails on your iPhone or Blackberry. After saying thank you, whatever you receive during the day you need to be thankful “good” or “bad” and I mean it good or bad. For whatever that is given by God to you cannot be bad. Only for that moment it appears to be “bad” for He knows what is best for you.
Throughout the day take small spiritual breaks by being quiet and reflect on the things that you have received for that day.

Remember every little miracle that God had shown you. Remain always thankful. This you can do anytime during the day and as many times. Invite God to all the meeting you are attending or and negotiations that you are making. Say God you guide me on this You decide the outcome, let it be a win-win situation. Never asked God to favour you against the other, always ask for a win-win situation.

Constant practice will allow you to get connected, mind and heart. Your mind to the seat of the divine – your spiritual heart. When you go home just before you retire for the night, again reflect on the events for the day and remain thankful for each and every gift that He has given you – good or bad. Do a Night Prayer which can be found in our Prayer Section or if you are not the praying sort just say “Thank you God for all that you have given me today”

You may say after reading this hah! Here he goes again but what have you go to lose by trying what is suggested above. And if you feel that you have benefitted from what I have posted here, pass it on to whoever you meet that tells you “I have everything but I feel disconnected and empty inside and I do not know why?”

God Bless.
