LOVE IS NOT LOVE UNTIL GIVEN – 8 March 1987

Love Love is not love until it is given. There is no point saying you love everyone but you don’t give it away. It is like money. ‘When you keep it, it is useless. Money is only useful when you use it. If you hoard money, it will deprive you of your happiness and peace of mind because you fear it may get stolen. I am not telling not to save. Save but be reasonable about it. Money is not money unless you know how to share it with others. Love is the same, Love is not love unless you know how to give it and share it.

Give love to the whole world. It will come back to you manifold. If you give good it will come back to you. If you give bad it will also come back to you. What you give you get back. Be it money, love, food or curses. What you give is going to come back to you. Give a genuine smile from the heart. It may be a driver or a drain sweeper. Smile at them. If you can, ask them a word, a simple question. They will be very happy. Just because you wear expensive clothes
it doesn’t make you any different from them. He is your equal. He is providing you a very important service. He is as equal as you are. You should greet him. Love is not love unless you give and the more you give the more you will have. It can never be exhausted.

Simple things that we can do like a smile, we should do. But. remember, whatever you do you should do with sincerity. If you are sincere and honest, the other person’s soul will be able to read your message.

A smile costs us nothing. It makes you happy and it makes the other person happy. You bring sunshine into other people’s lives and in doing that you yourself will begin to live in sunshine. A relationship can be broken because of lack of smile. When two people are very close especially in a marriage, smile at each other. Don’t take the other person for granted. Smile will help to bring people closer. Smile from the heart.

Whatever you take in life, it has its serious, humorous, beautiful and ugly sides. Two are positive and two negative. The beautiful and humorous are the positive and the ugly and serious negative. You can take things seriously but with a smile. Laugh at things. When people
laugh at you join them and laugh. Laugh at yourself, laugh at everything. Laughter has a great therapeutic effect. It is good for the mind, soul and body.

Be a good listener because by not being a good listener you don’t know what you are going to miss out. Don’t condemn a person and say that he always talks nonsense. Listen and
you may find something of value and there is no such thing as a person only talking trash. Be considerate in what you say and how you say things.

Take the sting out of your words. Appreciate the care and concern shown by others. Put aside whatever other problems you have and focus your attention on this person who is giving you the care and concern. Listen to the person.

Don’t have animosity or ill feelings towards others. The most important thing is to always put yourself in the other person’s shoes. Chances are you will understand him better.
Don’t expect others to look at things from your point of view. That is never going to happen. You can use these few things as guides for bur daily living.

Share love. Whatever you do you have to be sincere about it. Anything done without sincerity becomes poison. Anything given without love but in the name of love becomes poison.
You will repel others. Your conscious mind may not be able to pick it up; you may not be able to pick up my insincerity. Your sub-conscious mind will definitely pick it up no matter how I try to camouflage it. It is better not to give anything than to give with insincerity. Be
happy when you give. It is in giving that we get.
