WHAT IS TRUTH?

Satya is Truth. There are many levels of answering this question. At the very low level is speaking the truth, meaning not telling lies. At the spiritual level Truth is one. God is Truth. Truth is something that is neither created nor can be destroyed. It is unchanging. Truth cannot be changed. God cannot be changed. God is neither created or can be destroyed.

Anything that is created is not Truth. Anything that is created has to die. The Truth at the higher level of understanding is eternal bliss. For a lower level of understanding it is speaking the truth and not lies. What is a lie? A white lie is still a lie. Some people may say white lie is ok and it is ok if you are progressively moving on the spiritual level. That is why they say, take baby steps. Don’t try to take giant steps. If you have been speaking untruth and lies all the time, you can’t suddenly take a giant step to speak the truth. A baby needs to crawl, needs to stand up, before walking. Spiritual journey is like this, step by step. The foundation needs to be strong. To build a house the foundation must be strong.

In spirituality, the foundation is the belief system. If you believe there is only one God, irrespective of the name by which He is known and then you read a book that says all these are lies, will it shake your foundation?

If you meet someone who asks you why do you believe in all these rubbish, are you strong enough not to be shaken? Is your foundation strong enough? So take baby steps. Your foundation must be very strong if you believe that God is One, Truth is One, that is the Truth.

In the multiplicity of God’s name, there is only one God, there is only one Truth, that is a higher level of thinking and understanding. So to put in simple words, God was not created nor can He be destroyed. So Truth that was not created cannot be destroyed. That which is created, will one day disappear. The foundation in which you understand this spirituality is very important. Week after week we feed you with this spiritual Truth. First you must understand what it is that you are eating. Then to digest this spiritual food, you have to apply. Our Guru has given us all these very precious gems but don’t lock it is a treasure box. It is for all of us to take it and apply in our daily lives so that with all the suffering and stress that we have, we still go through life smiling. If you can achieve this, you have achieved freedom. To go through Life, understanding what we are trying to tell you week after week and if you can smile with all the problems that you have, you have achieved freedom. Don’t go for Nirvana, don’t go for enlightenment, those are just words. Go for freedom from self, freedom from fear, freedom from stress, freedom from suffering.

On top of these spiritual foods, we tell you about awareness meditation, we tell you what mindfulness is, we tell you to watch your thoughts, these are tools. Ultimately, you have to apply these tools in your daily life before you can experience the freedom that we are telling you.

If you have a plate of food in front of you and you stare at it every day, it will not make you full nor can you experience the taste of the food. You must first eat it, digest it and then you can experience it. All the spiritual tools that have been given is like that plate of food that we hand to you every week.
